The San Antonio Bonsai Society was born in August of 1973 and was incorporated in 1988. SABS sponsors numerous events throughout the year including Bonsai shows, sales, workshops and lecture/demonstrations.Our logo,represented by the informal style stands for the informal nature of San Antonio Bonsai Society Inc.. This popular, interesting style depicts the objectives of SABS— Promoting participation and enjoyment of Bonsai. The emblem was adopted as the official San Antonio Bonsai Society logo in September 1977.

Mohawk Valley Bonsai Club – New York – USA

The club was established by a group of friends in 2005 to bring together bonsai enthusiasts in the central New York/Mohawk Valley region. Most of us are in the lower to mid-range level of experience, but we have easy access to many accomplished bonsai artists, events and activities within a short distance. The regional bonsai community is quite strong in upstate New York !!!

We were founded in the Autumn of 1962 by the efforts of twelve individuals: Paul Matsusaki (†), Edna Matsusaki, Leroy Fujii (†) , Mary Bretlinger, Alice Feffer (†) , Chet Hutchinson, Edward Jacobson (†) , Bill Jamieson, Margaret Julian, Joan McCarter, Harry Roark (†), and David Wright (†) . Elsie Andrade, who joined the group during its first few months and is still very much a part of our activities, is also considered a founding member.

This society was one of the first twenty such clubs formed outside of Asia. Our objectives have always been:

to study, foster and encourage the enjoyment of the art of Bonsai,
to assemble and make available information on the culture of Bonsai,
to promote the collection and exhibition of Bonsai,
to acquaint Bonsai fanciers with each other.
